Forto Tech

Welcome to the Forto technology team blog.

On the day we launched this blog in February 2021, the internet had more than 600 million blog posts! [According to].

That’s a very big number. Even if you discount the blogs that are not of interest (to me), irrelevant, or simply poorly written, you’d still need several lifetimes to read those blogs. So why, when there is already so much out there in cyberspace, would we add to this ever-increasing number? We’ve put a lot of thought into why we want to launch this blog. We’re not just doing it because…

A new Q&A with Zeke Arany-Lucas

It seems that every time I read the news recently there’s yet another article about space travel. The latest story that caught my attention focussed on an anonymous bidder who paid a staggering US$28m for the privilege of joining Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and his brother on an 11-minute flight into space, the company’s first carrying humans. Amazon’s Blue Origin is vying with other big-shot rocket men and their high-tech companies to lead the commercial space race, including Elon Musk, with SpaceX, and Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic.

A brief Q&A with newly-appointed Executive Vice President of Product Management, Kamil Rodoper

Since its humble beginning, Forto has undergone stratospheric growth. Talented people from a wide variety of backgrounds have found a workplace at Forto where they are appreciated for their drive, hard work…

As an engineer, my goal has always been to work in an environment that allows me to focus my time and expertise where they are most needed — solving complex challenges. This is exactly what I have at Forto. Here my time is well respected, my opinions are heard, I’m part of a talented team, and I’m well compensated. In my experience, getting the balance in all these segments in a company has been the hardest to find.

Having worked at Forto for a year-and-a-half now, I’ve realized that a culture that unites people behind a single goal, irrespective of…

Your frontend codebase is growing. It started out small, but now there are multiple teams working on different parts of it and deployments are taking a little longer every month. You weren’t able to release a feature, or worse, a bug fix, because tests for code owned by a different team started failing.

Does any of this sound familiar?

This is precisely the challenge the Forto tech team was faced with until we collaborated to find a way to fix the problem. The answer turned out to be micro-frontends and this is how we did it.

The challenge: A growing codebase, slower deploys

At Forto, we have…
